We are excited to announce our 50th annual Family History Conference, this one in a brand new format, hybrid! We hope you will join us on Saturday, 14 May 2022, at the Maryland Heights Community Center, 2300 McKelvey Road, St. Louis, MO 63043, for this all-day event. You can attend in-person OR via Zoom, and, for the very first time, everyone who registers will be able to view all eight of the lectures, since they will all be recorded! Read on for all the details . . .
After two years of closures and quarantine, we know that everyone is eager to get out and resume genealogy research that cannot be done online. Our guest speaker, Dr. David McDonald, will present everything you need to know about researching in some little-known but easily accessible Midwestern repositories.
Plus, our four additional guest speakers will share information about getting ready and organized and more places to research.
For those attending the conference in-person, doors will open at 9:30 a.m., a bit later than usual due to our venue's staffing schedule, but you will have plenty of time to settle in, get a morning beverage or snack, and find a seat before the opening announcements at 9:50 a.m. First lecture will begin at 10 and the day ends at 3:30 p.m.
The day's lectures include the following:
- "Archival Collections and Genealogy: Illinois"
- "Planning and Organizing a Research Trip"
- "The Draper Manuscripts and the Wisconsin State Archives and Library"
- "The State Historical Society of Missouri: Who, What, When, Where?"
- "Top Genealogy Libraries in the Midwest"
- "Missouri State Archives . . . Where History Begins"
- "The Presidential Library System"
- "Records in the Courthouse"
Everything you need to know and to get registered is on the Family History Conference page on our website. We can't wait to see you for this very special event!
