German Special Interest Group Meeting: Saturday, 25 January 2025
"Unlocking Your German Roots: How a Professional Genealogist in Germany Can Help," by Andrea Bentschneider, professional German genealogist; 1:00 p.m. (Central); free, open to all. This meeting will be hybrid. You can attend in person at our office in Maplewood or via Zoom. Registration is required for Zoom only. Jewish Special Interest Group Meeting: Sunday, 2 February 2025
"Introduction to Finding Your Jewish Roots," by
Ilene Murray and Carol Waggoner, Jewish SIG co-leaders. This will be an
all-day workshop (10 a.m. till 2:30 p.m., Central) consisting of three lectures: "Migration Paths of Our Ancestors," "First Steps in Doing Jewish Genealogy, and "U.S. Record Sets for Documenting Your Family." The workshop will take place at the Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. There is a nominal registration fee for attending either in-person or via Zoom. An optional box lunch is also available for purchase. Registration
is through the Holocaust Museum's website, and more information and a link to the site are now posted on the Jewish SIG page on the StLGS website.
We are pleased to announce that beginning in January 2025, all StLGS genealogy classes will be free to everyone, regardless of StLGS membership status. Our first class for the new year is now posted on the
StLGS website. Classes are hybrid; you can attend in-person at
the StLGS office in Maplewood or via Zoom.
