New on the StLGS Website . . .

It’s been a while since we have brought you updates from the StLGS website, https://stlgs.org, so this week, we will catch you up. During the past few months, our volunteers have been working hard to add new data to our congregations project, upload new biographies, update and correct cemetery data, and add new information from donated memorabilia.

You can always start to find new information on the website by clicking the “New on This Site” button on the home page. (Or go there directly at https://stlgs.org/new-on-this-site-2023.)

Here is what you will find on that page at this time, organized by month with links to each newly added or revised page. Please note: Some data is for members of StLGS only. If you are a society member, be sure to log into the website first.

St. Louis City/County Biographies Project

Our St. Louis City/County Biographies project continues to grow. Click on that button on the home page for access to more than 300 biographies of men and women who contributed in a wide variety of ways to St. Louis’s history. From the main biographies page, you can search for a particular name in any biography by using the alphabetical index. You can search the entire collection of bios to see if someone has already had a biography written about them, and you can get instructions on how to write and submit your own biography.

Lots More is on the Way!

Coming up in the next few months are more cemetery and congregations revisions, new data on churches not already on our website, and records from local communities and government agencies. Be sure to check the “New on this Site” page often, as the StLGS website currently has several million records, and we are always adding more!
