It feels like the summer has flown by, doesn't it? But fall is almost here, and we are excited about our remaining meetings, some new upcoming classes, and our hybrid Fall Speaker Series. All the details to get you started with our fall event schedule are below.

"Searching for Your Elusive Prussian Ancestors: A Case Study," presented by Stephen Wendt, instructor and writer; 7:00 p.m. (Central).
Prussia once controlled parts of what are now modern Germany and Poland. Gain a better understanding of historical Prussia in the pursuit of records with numerous examples and resources. (This meeting will be in-person at the Oak Bend branch of the St. Louis County Library and livestreamed via Zoom. It will NOT be recorded, however.) Special Interest Group meetings are free and open to all, but registration for Zoom is required. More details and instructions for registering are on the German SIG page on the StLGS website.

Upcoming StLGS Hybrid Classes
Classes for StLGS members are hybrid. You may attend in-person at our office in Maplewood or via Zoom.
The following classes are scheduled for the remainder of 2023:
"Finding Answers in the Census" presented by StLGS librarian, Judy Belford, will be on Saturday, 18 November 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the StLGS office or by Zoom.
"RootsMagic 9 (Windows and Mac) . . . and a Bit More on RM8," presented by Jim Ross, StLGS webmaster, will be on Saturday, 2 December 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the StLGS office or by Zoom.
Check out the website to register for either or both of these classes. In-person classes are free to members but $30 for non-members; digital recordings of all our classes are only available to StLGS members, so why not join StLGS to get free access to our live and recorded classes!

Lectures will be recorded and available to view for one day only on 1 October 2023.
For those attending in-person: box lunch optional to purchase, StLGS sales table, printed syllabus.
Those attending remotely will receive an electronic syllabus.
Lectures include:

- "Depression-Era St. Louis: Legacies on the Landscape"
- "If These Walls Could Talk: Researching Your House's History"
