Happy Labor Day! It's unofficially the end of summer, but we still have plans for weeks of pleasant weather ahead, just right for getting out and attending some genealogy meetings. "What Did They Die From" presented by Ilene Murray; 10:00 a.m. (Central) at the Clark Family Branch, St. Louis County Library, 1640 South Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63131; free, open to all.
Most of us have used death records of one kind or another, but sometimes what we see on them is baffling. Vague causes of death were labels for what we now know are serious medical conditions. Join us as we explore some of the illnesses our ancestors suffered and how the "cures" may have made bad situations worse!

Registration is only necessary for those attending via Zoom. Explore the German Freie Gemeinde, or "freethinkers" in St. Louis. Learn their history, beliefs, activities, and where to find records if you have an ancestor who may have been a member.
