With the introduction of our newly rebuilt online store, we can now offer some extra perks for our friends and members online! We frequently have people asking to purchase gift certificates for StLGS membership, products, and events. Until recently, we've only been able to provide those in-person or via mail. But that is now changing! In addition, we have greatly expanded our selection of books for sale by adding the gently used history and genealogy books in our Trading Post to our online store. We are excited to share the details with you!
StLGS Gift Certificates
When you go to the online store (https://store.stlgs.org) and click on "All Products," you will see the button for "Gift Certificate: Individual Membership $40" right at the top. There are also buttons for a family membership gift certificate, one for $20, and one for $10. You can buy as many as you like by just increasing the quantity. So, for instance, if you want to give someone $50, you can buy two $20 certificates and one for $10. We hope to add the ability for you to choose a specific amount, but that's still in the future.
When you purchase a gift certificate, you will receive a one-time coupon code that your recipient will use to validate your purchase. Please note that member discount coupons do not apply to gift certificate purchases. We hope this will make buying gift certificates a lot easier, especially for those of you who cannot make it into our office.

Trading Post
Anyone entering our office lobby notices immediately the large collection of books we have for sale. We do offer some genealogy books that are new, but as books become more expensive, and more are being published electronically, we have limited options. However, a burgeoning part of our book sales comes from our Trading Post, an ever-changing collection of donated history and genealogy books that we are able to offer at discounted prices. In the office, the books are arranged alphabetically by state, county, country, and/or subject, so they are easy to browse.
Because we have members in almost all fifty states as well as several other countries, we are delighted to be able to provide access to our Trading Post books to everyone via our online store. When you go to our online store now, you will notice that interspersed with our new books is a wide variety of interesting one-of-a-kind titles at deeply discounted prices. Each book has a thumbnail photo of the cover, and when you click on the thumbnail, you are able to see exactly how many copies we have in stock. We currently have a small selection of maps in the Trading Post, which will be of interest to those of you with English and Irish ancestors. Remember that the Trading Post inventory is always changing, as it's based on donations we receive.
